It is my sincere hope that this page come to list all the Pushhands Gatherings all over the world so that wherever a Pushhands practitioner may be, he or she might more easily find fellow Pushers to practice with.
For now, this will start as a list and hopefully, as it grows, I will include a country, state, zip code search to help you find the closest gathering. In order to get listed here, please email the location information to me at gharris@pushhands.com. I will post any group on this page that I receive. Please be sure to include the address, contact person or organizer of the group as well as the time and any other specifics of the group that a newcomer would need to know before attending.
Any gathering listed should be open to all newcomers and consistent in attendance with dates and times adhered to as listed. If there are any possible change in attendance, please be sure to list any county, state or local policy that may apply (like for inclement weather or holidays).
This gathering is located in the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange building and is sponsored by Paul Ramos, the Head Instructor of the WuShenTao Health & Martial Arts Kung Fu School. You can find out more here at www.wushentao.com. Below is the address for the gathering…

The Pushhands Gathering runs every Tuesday Night from 7:00pm until 9:00pm EST. We follow the Montgomery County closing policy for holidays and inclement weather. We are also closed the week between Christmas and New Years.
The Greater Washington Area Push-Hands Get-Together was started by the late David Chen. David Chen was a well known and respected Cheng Man Ching Style Tai Chi Chuan instructor in Potomac, MD with other classes around the DC Metro area. David Chen passed away a few years ago and his clases were taken over by his wife, Joanne Chang. I have personally know both David Chen and Joanne Chang for over 15 years. They both attended my wedding and I considered David Chen to be one of my close Pushhands partners.
I can remember meeting David in the early 90′s at the Pushhands Gathering listed above that is sponsored by Paul Ramos and Wu Shen Tao Health and Martial Arts. David came to join our weekly Pushhands and was a regular for many years. He was a joy to push with and was one of the few practicioners that actually worked on investing in loss and forgetting the ego. During his later years, his Pushhands skill increased exponentially from this effort. It was a pleasure to Pushhands with him and we all miss him dearly.
David Chen started the Greater Washington Area Push-Hands Get-Together in the mid-90s and it has drawn very large crowds consistently into its second decade. I have seen anywhere from 30 to 80 Pushhers attending over the years. It will well worth attending. The Gathering takes place 3 times a year and you can find more detailed information here at Joanne Chang’s website http://www.wuweitaichi.com. This gathering draws Tai Chi practitioners from as far north as New York city and as far south as North Carolina. It is well worth attending and costs $8.00 at the door. Please see Joanne’s website for updated information.
